Monsanto's RoundUp and Scotts Using Miracle-Gro to Pay $12.5 Million for Improper Pesticide Use

Sunset after Chem Trails

Poisoning bird seed that you sell to bird lovers isn’t the brightest of ideas.  Scott’s Miracle Gro, exclusive distributor of Monsanto’s RoundUp, is proposing donating $500,000 to support wildlife conservation and study in addition to paying a $4 million dollar fine for using unapproved insecticides in bird seed sold nationally for two years, the judge will be considering that in their guilty plea as he decides on the repercussions for their actions.  The government alleges that beginning in 2005, Scotts produced a line of wild bird food products under names including “Morning Song” and “Country Pride” that contained insecticides.

WASHINGTON – The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, a producer of pesticides for commercial and consumer lawn and garden uses, was sentenced today in federal district court in Columbus, Ohio, to pay a $4 million fine and perform community service for eleven criminal violations of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), which governs the manufacture, distribution, and sale of pesticides. Scotts pleaded guilty in February 2012 to illegally applying insecticides to its wild bird food products that are toxic to birds, falsifying pesticide registration documents, distributing pesticides with misleading and unapproved labels, and distributing unregistered pesticides. This is the largest criminal penalty under FIFRA to date.

In a separate civil agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Scotts agreed to pay more than $6 million in penalties and spend $2 million on environmental projects to resolves additional civil pesticide violations. The violations include distributing or selling unregistered, canceled, or misbranded pesticides, including products with inadequate warnings or cautions. This is the largest civil settlement under FIFRA to date.

“The misuse or mislabeling of pesticide products can cause serious illness in humans and be toxic to wildlife,” said Cynthia Giles, assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. “Today’s sentence and unprecedented civil settlement hold Scotts accountable for widespread company noncompliance with pesticide laws, which put products into the hands of consumers without the proper authorization or warning labels.”

“As the world’s largest marketer of residential use pesticides, Scotts has a special obligation to make certain that it observes the laws governing the sale and use of its products. For having failed to do so, Scotts has been sentenced to pay the largest fine in the history of FIFRA enforcement," said Ignacia S. Moreno, assistant attorney general for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the Department of Justice. “The Department of Justice will continue to work with EPA to assure that pesticides applied in homes and on lawns and food are sold and used in compliance with the laws intended to assure their safety.”

In the plea agreement, Scotts admitted that it applied the pesticides Actellic 5E and Storcide II to its bird food products even though EPA had prohibited this use. Scotts had done so to protect its bird foods from insect infestation during storage. Scotts admitted that it used these pesticides contrary to EPA directives and in spite of the warning label appearing on all Storcide II containers stating, “Storcide II is extremely toxic to fish and toxic to birds and other wildlife.” Scotts sold this illegally treated bird food for two years after it began marketing its bird food line and for six months after employees specifically warned Scotts management of the dangers of these pesticides. By the time it voluntarily recalled these products in March 2008, Scotts had sold more than 70 million units of bird food illegally treated with pesticide that is toxic to birds.

Monsanto, Bayer, and Scotts should be fined, way more then they are; and potentially put out of business.  I guess that explains what has happened to so many birds not only in Ohio; but all over.  Bastards.  Also remember Monsanto are makers/marketers of seed, herbicide, pesticides and Huge Supplier of GMO's for Human Consumption in what we Eat and in turn that runs off into water supplies....  More proof people that if it is killing Nature, Wildlife just think what it is doing to US!

major seed companies continue to collaborate on new products, with the latest being a new seed treatment combination from Bayer CropScience and Monsanto. Bayer’s Poncho/Votivo seed-applied insecticide is now being combined with Monsanto’s Acceleron seed treatment for nematodes.
The companies report that Acceleron with Poncho/Votivo will offer protection against white grubs, seed corn maggot, soybean aphids, and overwintering bean leaf beetles, as well as protection against nematodes, including soybean cyst nematodes. It also will complement genetic resistance to nematodes in soybeans.
Under the agreement, Monsanto will have rights to commercialize Poncho/Votivo on seed from its soybean brand Asgrow, the Channel brand, and regional brands, as well as to sell the product through its seed licensees, which include numerous independent seed companies across the U.S.
“We look forward to this opportunity to provide growers with advanced technology that combines Bayer CropScience innovation in seed treatment with Monsanto seed,” reports Keith Vodrazka, product manager at Bayer CropScience. “This combination will help ensure that soybean growers can have the best protection against yield-robbing nematodes and early-season insects.”

Could this be the start to our ‘silent genocide’ with former VP of Monsanto as Food Safety Czar promoted to Senior Advisor to the Commissioner of the FDA?

Monsanto has a somewhat Good and Really Bad track record and history so far over the years, and now they  promote the former VP/Lobbyist who was in charge of the nations Food Safety for the FDA.  Sounds like a warning of only more sickness,  disease, and death which is a sort of silent genocide?
I say that because I truly don’t think they want the aware citizens of  the  United States to pick up arms and start fighting back.  What better way to do it then our source of survival , because we all have to eat food and drink water, milk and  while we are making new friendships and bonds online everyone has become so disenfranchised with each other as to one on one/group contact in the flesh  for various  reasons.
Plus Bill Gates is lining Monsanto’s  pockets with a $20 million dollar donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to push more GMO food our way.   shera~

Monsanto Investor Bill Gates Says GMO Crops Needed to Fight Starvation

Bill Gates, the heavy Monsanto investor who purchased 500,000 shares of the biotech giant in 2010, has been touting Monsanto’s genetically modified creations as a tool that is necessary to prevent starvation in poor nations. The same poor nations where thousands of farmers routinely commit suicide after being completely bankrupt by Monsanto’s overpriced and ineffective GM seeds. The samecompany that we recently exposed to be running ‘slave-like’ working conditions, forcing poor workers to operate the corn fields for 14 hours per day while withholding pay.

Why is a Monsanto lobbyist serving as the FDA’s Food Safety Czar?

 thank you Gregory

Why is a former Monsanto lobbyist currently serving as the FDA’s food safety czar waging war on small dairy farms that produce fresh milk?  While factory farm operators are getting away with serious food safety violations, raw milk dairy farmers and distributors across the country have been subjected to armed raids and hauled away in handcuffs.
President Obama has appointed the former Monsanto Vice President and lobbyist Michael R. Taylor to the throne. This is thesame manwho was Food Safety Czar for the FDA when Genetically Modified Organisms were allowed into the US food supply without undergoing a single test to determine their safety or risks. This is like putting a terrorist in charge of the world’s food supply. What will the cancer numbers look like in 2016?
The GMO nightmare all started with the Dan Quayle led FDA/GMO marriage. Under George Bush Senior’s Administration from 1989 to 1993, Dan Quayle single-handedly catapulted GMO’s into existence through FDA’s anti-consumer right-to-know policy, which stated that GMO foods did not have to be labeled or safety tested. Yes, you read that correctly: There isno safety testing requiredwhatsoever to take someAgent Orangepesticide and genetically mutate the seeds of vegetables in a chemical laboratory so that nothing on planet earth will eat the plant that grows from the groundexcept for all the humanswho have no idea what happened.
(NaturalNews) Those still in denial about the connection between the so-called “humanitarian” efforts of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the bigger agenda to thrust genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) on the populations of the world (among other things), need look no further than the Golden Rice Project (GRP) for proof that things are not as they seem. Hailed as the solution to “micronutrient deficiencies in developing countries,” GRP is actually nothing more than an attempted Trojan horse to usherGMOsinto countries that have thus far rejected them.
According to a recent story published byFood Consumer, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has donated $20 million to develop “goldenrice,” a type of GM rice that allegedly contains higher than normal levels ofvitamin A. Monsanto, creator of this Frankenrice,” claims the crop will help end the epidemic of vitamin A deficiency (VAD) that afflicts many living in poor Asian countries. Sounds great, right? Except for the fact that introducing the rice threatens to actually worsen the VAD crisis, and promote economic and ecological debacles of epic proportions.
“Golden rice is a Trojan horse for pushing through GE-friendly biosafety regulations under the guise of humanitarian aid,” reportsFood Freedom.

  • USDA to Rubber-Stamp Contamination of Food with Illegal, Genetically Engineered Rice Banned in Japan and Europe
U.S. Dismantles Regulation of Genetically Engineered Crops to Serve Interests of Biotechnology Industry
Press Release – Center for Food Safety, Sept. 11, 2006
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today initiated fast-track market approval of an illegal, genetically-engineered (GE) rice variety that has contaminated long-grain rice throughout the South, throwing rice markets into turmoil and potentially causing harm to consumers and the environment. Bayer CropScience developed the rice, known as LL601.  Bayer field-tested LL601 from 1998-2001, but for unknown reasons never applied to USDA for market approval.
Though LL601 is illegally present in rice supplies, and has not undergone meaningful reviews for potential health or environmental impacts, U.S. authorities have failed to recall LL601-contaminated rice supplies or food products.  In contrast, Japan has banned U.S. long-grain rice imports, and the European Union is testing all U.S. rice shipments and rejecting those that contain LL601.  Bayer is now asking USDA to grant retroactive market approval of the illegal rice, even though the company gave up plans to market LL601 in 2001 and it remains untested.
