Stoning emphasized in new Islamic Punishment law, but who are we to cast a stone when other religions do and did the same?

When did Jews stop stoning people to death like

their god commands them to do?

Christians say they don’t stone people to death anymore despite clear commandments from their god to do so because they claim those are old Jew laws. So what excuse do Jews use for disobeying their god by not stoning people to death for working on the Sabbath, eating shellfish, wearing clothing made from different fibers etc?

Stoning in Scripture

Palestine being a very rocky country, the abundance of stones made itnatural to use them as missiles. Stone throwing might be merely a mark of hatred and contempt (2 Samuel 16:6-13), or the means of carrying out murderous intentions against which provision had to be made in theLaw (Exodus 21:18, Numbers 35:17). Stoning to death which was at first an expression of popular fury analogous to “lynching”, later came to be a natural and legally recognized method of execution. It was this regulated by law as an appointed means of capital punishment(Deuteronomy 17:5-7; Acts 7:58). Death by stoning is prescribed in thePentateuch as the penalty for eighteen different crimes includingSabbath-breaking, but for one crime only — murder — is it the penaltyprescribed in all the codes. The execution of the criminal usually took place outside the city walls, and according to Deuteronomy 17:7, thewitnesses in the case were to cast the first stone: “Thou shalt bring forth the man or the woman, who have committed that most wickedthing, to the gates of thy city, and they shall be stoned. By the mouth of two or three witnesses shall he die who is to be slain…. The hands of thewitnesses shall be first upon him to kill him, and afterwards the hands of the rest of the people”. (Deuteronomy 17:5-7). Stoning is also mentioned in Acts 7:57-58, as the means by which Stephen the firstChristian martyr was put to death: “And casting him forth without the city, they stoned him.”

Stoning, or lapidation, is a form of capital punishment whereby a group throws stones at a person until death ensues. No individual among the group can be identified as the one who kills the subject, yet everyone involved plainly bears some degree of moral culpability. This is in contrast to the case of a judicial executioner. Slower than other forms of execution, stoning is a form of execution by torture.  >>more<<

Everyone knows that the Islamic Republic of Iran is “extremist,” but in fact, in Islamic terms stoning is not “extremist”; it is Islamic law for adulterous women. The caliph Umar, one of Muhammad’s closest companions, even maintained that it was originally in the Qur’an:

‘Umar said, “I am afraid that after a long time has passed, people may say, “We do not find the Verses of the Rajam (stoning to death) in the Holy Book,” and consequently they may go astray by leaving an obligation that Allah has revealed. Lo! I confirm that the penalty of Rajam be inflicted on him who commits illegal sexual intercourse, if he is already married and the crime is proved by witnesses or pregnancy or confession.” Sufyan added, “I have memorized this narration in this way.” ‘Umar added, “Surely Allah’s Apostle carried out the penalty of Rajam, and so did we after him.” (Bukhari, vol. 8, bk. 82, no. 816)

“Allah’s Apostle” is, of course, Muhammad, who did indeed carry out stonings. Here is the hadith in which he challenges the rabbis about stoning, and in which there is amidst the barbarism and brutality a final act of love and compassion:

The Jews came to Allah’s Apostle and told him that a man and a woman from amongst them had committed illegal sexual intercourse. Allah’s Apostle said to them, “What do you find in the Torah (old Testament) about the legal punishment of Ar-Rajm (stoning)?” They replied, (But) we announce their crime and lash them.” Abdullah bin Salam said, “You are telling a lie; Torah contains the order of Rajm.” They brought and opened the Torah and one of them solaced his hand on the Verse of Rajm and read the verses preceding and following it. Abdullah bin Salam said to him, “Lift your hand.” When he lifted his hand, the Verse of Rajm was written there. They said, “Muhammad has told the truth; the Torah has the Verse of Rajm. The Prophet then gave the order that both of them should be stoned to death. (‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar said, “I saw the man leaning over the woman to shelter her from the stones.” (Bukhari, vol. 4, bk. 56, no. 829)

Even the monkeys practiced stoning, according to another hadith:

During the pre-lslamic period of ignorance I saw a she-monkey surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all stoning it, because it had committed illegal sexual intercourse. I too, stoned it along with them. (Bukhari, vol. 5, bk. 58, no. 188)  >>>more<<<

Which of the three religions, Christianity, Judaism or Al-Islam prescribes stoning for adultery?

This matter is rather simple. Let’s take a look at what the Old Testament, New Testament and the Quran says about the punishment for adultery. Without interpretation or interpolation let’s just look at what each book prescribes. Then after doing so let’s ask the question which book are those who stone to death really following?

Time for a Military Approach to the Border

There are many types of fences on the border.  In Douglas, Arizona Border Patrol has recently finished building a new 18-foot-high fence.  It covers six miles of border, is made of much tougher steel which is harder to cut, and sinks about six feet into the ground to make it harder to tunnel.  The ranchers are skeptical if this fence will do the job and cite Janet Napolitano’s 2005 statement (when governor) that “[y]ou show me a 50-foot wall and I’ll show you a 51-foot ladder.”  Warner and Kelly, whose ranch is close to the border, discouragingly stated, “After this fence was built, the illegal immigrants were coming up and over.  It seems that the cartels will find ways around anything built.”  There is also the fear that a tougher fence could push the smugglers into the rural areas where many of the ranchers reside.

Washington (CNN) — In a huge, seven-day operation covering all 50 states and four U.S. territories, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials arrested 2,901 convicted criminal immigrants as part of the “Cross Check” enforcement operation, ICE officials announced Wednesday.

ICE officials trumpeted the arrests at a news conference designed to highlight “the Obama administration’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing the removal of criminal aliens and egregious immigration law violators.”

ICE Director John Morton said all those arrested had prior criminal convictions, including 1,282 who had multiple convictions. More than 1,600 of those arrested had felony convictions including manslaughter, attempted murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, drug trafficking, child abuse, sexual crimes against minors and aggravated assault. Forty-two of them were gang members and 151 were convicted sex offenders, officials said.

ICE officials acknowledged that despite the large number of arrests, there were still an estimated 1 million convicted criminal aliens in the United States. Morton said one of the issues ICE is trying to deal with is the lack of notification to immigration authorities when offenders are released from jail.
Most of the people detained — 2,642 — were men. Those arrested came from 115 countries, with immigration fugitives accounting for 681 of those detained in the operation, Morton said. Of the people arrested, 386 were illegal re-entrants.

Israel and US to hold joint missile drill (Could this be what all the recent Emergency Broadcast Alerts Have Been For?)

Israel and the United States are to hold a joint missile defence exercise, the Israeli military said late on Thursday.

Although the exercise, codenamed “Austere Challenge 12″ comes at a time of spiralling regional tensions over Iran’s suspected nuclear arms programme, the army said the manoeuvres were planned in advance.

“The exercise scenario involves notional, simulated events as well as some field training and is not in response to any real-world event,” the military said in a written response to an AFP query

“The US European Command and the Israel Defence Forces periodically conduct routine exercises in Israel. These exercises, which are part of a long-standing strategic partnership, are planned in advance and part of a routine training cycle designed to improve the interoperability of our defence systems.”

It did not say when the exercise would take place.

Local media said that it would get underway in the spring and would be the biggest ever joint manoeuvres between the two allies.

It is a little known, but historical fact that Israel has attacked the United States several times. Yet, we now know that our New Homeland Security Chief helped Israel to do so.

Thirty-four men died and 172 were wounded. The U.S.S. Liberty was damaged beyond repair and scrapped. Survivors and many key government officials including Secretary of State Dean Rusk and former Joint Chief of Staffs Chairman, Admiral Thomas Moorer say it was a deliberate act of war. On June 15, 1986, The United States attacked Muammar Khadaffi. But according to Victor Ostrovsky, a Mossad defector now living in Canada, Ronald Reagan was tricked into bombing Libya by means of a radio transmitter smuggled into Tripoli by the Mossad, which broadcast messages designed to fool the United States into thinking Libya was about to launch a massive terror attack on the west. On the basis of this fake evidence, the US bombed Libya, killing Khadaffi’s daughter. Is Victor Ostrovsky correct? More recently, the FBI, CIA, Secret Service and DEA found the most significant foreign espionage ring ever discovered in the history of the United States. It was a huge spy ring of hundreds of Israelis who penetrated the highest echelons of American intelligence agencies and the American military as reported by Carl Cameron on Fox News Network’s Brit Hume Show, December 12, 2002. In a corresponding broadcast on MSNBC, titled U.S. Busts Israeli Spy Ring, March 5, 2002, it was reported that approximately 200 Israeli agents were apprehended for attempting to penetrate the Justice Department, the U.S. judiciary system, several military bases, the FBI, the DEA, the INS and the CIA.

It’s true that Chaim ben Pesach (Also known as Victor Vancier) was involved in JDL bombings and was a JDL chairman in the past. He speaks about this on the forum and in various archived “Ask JTF” broadcasts. Chaim has explained why he did what he did. Even if you don’t agree with the tactics he used, bringing this up is irrelevant to the points he’s making about Ron Paul. It’s an ad-hominem attack against Chaim rather than addressing the legitimate points he brings up about Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is anti-Semitic and dangerous for America’s future and many others besides Chaim are recognizing this and talking about it.

The accusations about the pedophile stuff were fabrications made by enemies associated with a left wing Jewish group called Peace Now. These people have made other fakes as well. Left wing Jews like those at Peace Now despise Chaim because he opposes their leftist agenda. A former head of the Jewish Defense League was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in Federal prison for taking part in a series of ”terrorist bombings” in the New York area since 1984 to protest Soviet treatment of Jews.

In sentencing the defendant, Victor Vancier, 30 years old, of Whitestone, Queens, Judge I. Leo Glasser of Federal District Court in Brooklyn sternly told him, ”You don’t go bombing innocent people to make a point.”

He said he regarded Mr. Vancier as ”a danger to this community” and, at the request of the Federal prosecutor, Charles E. Rose, he revoked Mr. Vancier’s $1 million bail. In separate sessions earlier in the day, Judge Glasser sentenced two other former members of the militant organization, founded in 1968 by Rabbi Meir Kahaneto combat anti-Semitism.

One of them, Murray Young, 60, of East Meadow, L.I., was sentenced to five years in prison. The other, Sharon Katz, 44, of West 57th Street in Manhattan, was given a suspended three-year prison sentence and six months of house arrest as part of a five-year probationary term.

”I have no justification for what I did,” Mr. Vancier said before his sentence was imposed. He said he realized that his actions had not helped his cause. And he asked for a new chance to build a constructive life.More at source
