Libeskind’s design features a shattered Star of David symbolizing 6 million Jewish victims and a stone inscription recognizing “millions more, including prisoners of war, racial and ethnic minorities, freemasons, homosexuals, the mentally ill, the developmentally disabled and political dissidents who suffered under Nazi Germany.”

The warning at the ceremony came from Deborah Lipstadt, a professor at Emory University who has spent the past few years speaking out against “Holocaust deniers” who either insist the Holocaust did not happen, or argue it was greatly exaggerated. 

She cited an example just last month in which a middle-schoolers in a Southern California district were asked to write a paper explaining if they believed the Holocaust was historical fact or was made up to stir public sympathy and reap financial gain. After massive opposition, the project was scuttled. 

“The teachers were not insensitive; they were wrong,” Lipstadt said. “This is not a sensitivity case; it’s history.” 

She called the memorial a “way station in a process of changing ‘never again’ to a reality...You should not, you cannot stop,” she urged the audience. 

Leslie H. Wexner, founder of L Brands, quoted Irish philosopher Edmund Burke, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Clearly the governor, by recognizing the significance of the Holocaust, has done something,” Wexner said. 

The Ohio Bicentennial bell was tolled 12 times for the 12 million killed, followed by a moment of silence and a candle-lighting ceremony.   >>more<<

Cuba: Discussion on Democracy and Institutions

HAVANA TIMES — A group of Cuban intellectuals of various political perspectives presented a collection of essays titled “For a Consensus for Democracy,” which was the prelude to a broader debate organized by the Catholic magazine Espacio Laical.

The authors met with about a hundred persons at the Father Felix Varela Cultural Center to discuss the institutionalization and democratization of the island, each from their own political slant but in an atmosphere of mutual respect and seriousness.

Among the participants were Catholic, liberal and Marxists panelists – even a priest who is a descendant of Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, the first rebel who in the eighteenth century stood up for the independence of the island against Spanish rule.

Paradoxically, those most notably absent from this academic consensus building exercise for democracy was the Cuban government (which excludes itself from these debates) and dissidents (who were only allowed participation from the audience).

The end of taboos?

The discussions included topics that until recently were taboo in Cuba, such as the multiparty system, democracy, citizens’ participation in decision making, the unconstitutionality of some governmental actions, and political change.

Arizona netizens outraged over internet censorship bill

Does this article – or maybe just the headline – annoy, offend or terrify you? If so, it may soon be illegal in Arizona.

The state's legislature has passed a bill which would update an existing telephone harassment law to apply to the Internet and other forms of electronic communication.  The problem, though, is that it dramatically broadens the scope, making it potentially criminal to even marginally offend someone when they aren’t even the target of the “offensive” communication.

As outlined by the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, “the bill is sweepingly broad, and would make it a crime to communicate – via any electronic means – speech that is intended to 'annoy,' 'offend,' 'harass' or 'terrify,' as well as certain sexual speech. Because the bill is not limited to one-to-one communications, House Bill 2549 would apply to the Internet as a whole, thus criminalizing all manner of writing, cartoons, and other protected material the state finds offensive or annoying."

The lawmakers’ concern is quite understandable: more and more stories of cyber bullying appear every day, and racially, sexually and morally offensive comments and interactions are, sadly, a frequent sight on the web. 

But in their rush to protect Arizona citizens from harm, legislators seem to have forgotten one key thing: to define all those terms that they are trying to deem punishable. 

Words like ‘lewd’ or ‘profane’ are not defined by statute, or in reference. Most people understand ‘lewd’ to mean of a lusty or sexual nature, and ‘profane’ is disrespectful of religious beliefs and practices. And how does one define ‘annoying,’ when it’s so individual? 

Section one of this law is so vague, in fact, that a person could be prosecuted because a friend of a friend of a friend found a Facebook post offensive. Which is ridiculous, as I, for example, get annoyed by my friends posting carefree vacation updates while I’m stuck behind a desk at work. And I get terrified by people posting pictures of the sphynx, the hairless cats which everyone colloquially refers to as naked. (Speaking of which, if they are ‘naked’ and someone posts their pictures, does that constitute lewd online conduct?) 

I’m also pretty sure we all know people who would be offended by religious discourse of the ‘is there a God?’

Founding Fathers, The Hell-Fire Club; Sex, Politics, and Religion in Eighteenth-Century England

 On moonlit nights during the reign of England’s King George III, immensely powerful members of His Majesty’s Government, important intellectuals, and influential artists could sometimes be seen travelling up the Thames River by gondola to a ruined abbey near West Wycombe. There, to the sonorous tolling of the deconsecrated cloister’s bell, they dressed in monkish robes and indulged in every manner of depravity, culminating in a Black Mass celebrated on the naked body of a debauched noblewoman and presided over by that notorious rake Sir Francis Dashwood. Their diabolical devotions concluded, the inner circle would adjourn to plot the course of the British Empire.

This “unholy sodalily,” as it has been called, styled themselves, with suitably Gothic flair, “The Friars of St. Francis of Medmenham,” though they have been immortalized by their popular epithet “The Hell-Fire Club.” In that gossipy age there was much speculation about the infernal activities of the society, and in 1765, Charles Johnstone published a roman a clef entitled Chrysal, or the Adventures of a Guinea, which was popularly believed to reveal the secrets of the “Medmenham Monks.”

Unfortunately for those whose prurient tastes are tempered with a dose of critical scholarship, the Hell-Fire Club does not live up to its reputation. Most of the contemporary writers who allude to “Saint Francis” and his “Brotherhood” at Medmenham Abbey had an ax to grind, and the Monks themselves were so secretive that some modern historians have concluded that the whole thing was mere fiction. (1) But perhaps now, over two centuries later, we can attempt to sketch the Hell-Fire Club against the background of its time, tentatively pencilling in the enigmatic features of its putative high priest, Sir Francis Dashwood, Baron Le Despencer.

THE CLUB’S PRECURSORS

Although the Medmenham Monks are the most famous band to be dignified with the appellation, they were certainly not the original Hell-Fire Club. The first half of the century saw the establishment of many circles of rakehells throughout the British Isles, and tales of their activities have often been transferred to Dashwood’s group. (2)

For our purposes the Monks’ most important precursor is the Hell-Fire Club founded around 1719 in London by Philip, Duke of Wharton (1698-1731). (3) Wharton was a prominent Whig politician, Freemason, and atheist who sought to ridicule religion by publicly presiding over festive gatherings with “Satanic” trappings. These meetings were often held in a tavern near St. James’s Square, although a nearby riding academy was sometimes pressed into service to permit the attendance of ladies of good reputation who could not be decently expected to be seen in a public house.

THE FLEDGLING RAKE

Francis Dashwood was born in 1708 into an illustrious line of Turkey merchants (6) who had raised themselves into the ranks of the aristocracy by a combination of hard work, political prowess, and strategic marriage. Dashwood’s mother died when he was two years of age and he was soon packed off to Eton for his education. Upon hearing of his father’s death in 1724, he locked himself in a cellar for a week to get drunk.

In 1726, the fledging rake left England for his grand tour of the Continent. To Dashwood’s credit, it must be said that this trip did inspire him with admiration for more than fine wine and courtesans. While in Florence, he made the acquaintance of the Catholic Jacobite Freemason Abbe Nicolini and was entered in the English Lodge there.

THE HELL-FIRE CLUB

Tradition asserts that Dashwood’s Hell-Fire Club originally met in London at the George and Vulture Inn. (19) It is possible that Dashwood and his friends gathered in a public house to revel in the freedom now implicitly granted to witches, resurrecting Wharton’s Hell-Fire Club in a spirit of mockery. On the other hand, in the early eighteenth century taverns were frequently the meeting places for Masonic lodges, so it is also quite possible that the nascent Hell-Fire Club was a cabal of Jacobite Freemason s. Indeed it might very well have been both.

THE HELLFIRE CAVES

“Mysteries of the Hellfire Caves and the Church of St. Lawrence.” For those who know anything about this period of 18th century British History the mention of the “Hellfire Clubs” seems to provoke swift and polarised reactions.Some immediately respond with mutterings of dark satanic rites and debauchery of the most extreme kind while others simply laugh at the wild tales and dismiss them as exaggerations.  The elusive truth is probably somewhere in the middle – a very complicated middle!This section of the Aquiziam website focuses on the “club” and “caves” established by Sir Francis Dashwood which has assumed the reputation of being a “Hellfire Society” although, allegedly it never officially referred to itself as such – perhaps because of government edict outlawing the “Hellfire” clubs in1721.

SEX AND POLITICS

Dashwood married Sarah Gould in 1745, but in an era when prostitution was the surest means for a woman to advance in society and the fate of nations might be determined by syphilis-spawned madness, it would have been unnatural for the Medmenham Monks not to have had some sexual aura about them. Legend portrays the Monks as indulging in sadomasochistic orgies, but given the rumours about Lady Mary Wortley Montagu and the Divan Club, one might well wonder if there is not a hint of Oriental sex magic in all this.

Certainly the monks engaged in ribald jesting. One of their members, probably the satirist George Selwyn, praised the Earl of Sandwich’s sexual prowess in an Anglo-Saxon-laced lampoon of Popes Essay on Man.

RELIGION

In 1773 Dashwood and Benjamin Franklin revised the Book of Common Prayer – an odd activity for a supposed Satanist. Possibly the two Freemasons were trying to bring the Anglican Church in line with Masonic Deism. In his introduction to this work, Dashwood stressed the usefulness of the church to the community and affirms the teachings of Jesus Christ in such a way that his allegiance to the Church of England is equivocal at best. Most of their changes involve removing all references to the Old Testament and eliminating repetitions wherever possible. This liturgy is still used by some Protestant sects in America. (31)

The whole question of religion is central to the fascination that Dashwood continues to exercise.

Children of immigrants fear displaying religion?

I think the title to this article is backwards, it is sad when a hosting country to said immigrants fear displaying their religion when in fact Canadians, Americans, and those of European countries are forced and made to be criminal when practicing their countries religion, traditions, ways of life.  All over the fact that said immigrants don't really want any part of trying assimilate or to accept the hosting countries way of life.

We have to uphold and respect there customs, all in the name of religion and when we don't we are labeled RACIST, close minded.  When their religious customs interfere in our way of life whether it be through their food, (kosher, halal) headgear, turbans being worn outside of dress code in law enforcement positions, (safety issue) 

If they choose not to then they need to return to their respective countries. shera~

Evangelical Christian children of immigrants feel they cannot openly practise their religion, and worry that Christianity is no longer a guiding force in Canadian society, while Muslims say they are free to follow their faith in this country -but face other forms of discrimination.

Those are some of the findings of new research that will be presented on Sunday at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences in Fredericton, the largest multi-disciplinary academic gathering in Canada.

“I was a little bit surprised by the degree to which Christians feel put upon. The Religulous message is getting across, and it’s not a good message,” said Peter Beyer, a professor of religious studies at the University of Ottawa, referring to the 2008 Bill Maher film that cast a critical eye on organized religion.

“They feel like there’s prejudice against religious people: ‘I can’t pull out my Bible, I can’t talk about my religion without getting shot down. I don’t even mention it for fear of getting a bad reaction.’ “

His study gathered insights from about 350 second-generation Canadians aged 18 to 30 through 36 focus groups in Sydney, N.S., Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Each focus group drew together young adults with common religious backgrounds, and many Christians expressed the worry that Christianity is no longer a dominant force in Canadian society, Prof. Beyer said.

On the other hand, Muslims attributed the discrimination they felt to racial or cultural prejudices rather than religious issues, saying they felt they could follow their faith unfettered in Canada.

“They feel that they’re perfectly free to practise Islam here in Canada, unlike some of the Christians who feel that their ability to practise their religion is restricted in this country,” Prof. Beyer said. “But they did feel Islamophobia.”

The qualitative study reveals some of the complex fault lines in Canadian society.

Young adults from across religious and cultural lines agreed that Muslims have faced discrimination since 9/11, but non-Muslims also said there should be limits on religious freedom and expressed concerns that Muslims “could be a problem,” Prof. Beyer said.

Jewish groups oppose circumcision ban in San Francisco

Jewish groups and others are up at arms over an attempt to outlaw male circumcision in San Francisco by putting the issue to a popular vote.

Self-described "intactivist" Lloyd Schofield has been collecting signatures for a voter initiative that would criminalize infant circumcision in the Californian city.

After two months of collecting names, he claims to be more than half way toward getting the 7,168 signatures he needs by late April to put the matter on the November ballot.

Schofield and a growing community of anti-circumcision activists say that infants should not be forced to participate in what is essentially culturally accepted genital mutilation.

They claim that the procedure can cause health risks and diminished sexual function and compare it to the clitoridectomies performed on girls in parts of Africa.

"This is a human rights issue," he said. "What you're doing is you're taking an infant and removing the most sensitive part of their body."

Jewish organizations have pledged to fight the measure should it be placed on the ballot. Anti-Defamation League director Daniel Sandman called Schofield's effort discriminatory and misguided.

"This is hurtful and offensive to people in the community who consider this a coveted ritual," he said.

Abby Porth of the Jewish Community Relations Council charged Schofield with wasting city resources for an inappropriate political stunt that was unlikely to become law.

"This is one of the most fundamental practices to our tradition of over 3,000 years," she said. "It's symbolic of our covenant with God."

Porth said the Jewish community would form a coalition against the initiative with medical professionals and Muslims, who also practice circumcision.

"It's very similar to those of the Jewish faith," said Omar Nawaz of the Bay Area-based Zaytuna College, one of the nation's only Muslim colleges. "It's a religious tradition and it's important for us."

Both pro- and anti-circumcision advocates make health claims, but the medical research does not firmly support either position.MORE

People who blame everything on Jews miss a fundamental point of strategy.
When an enemy breaks through your lines into your own territory, of course you raise hell about it and call for your people to see them as enemies and insist the territory is yours. But that is not all you do.

A general who does nothing but bitch about an attack is a fool. When his line is breached, he takes a look at WHY his line broke.
No one has any use for a general who simply cries and blames the enemy for his defeat.
He looks at his line and finds why his defense didn’t WORK.

We are not innocent bystanders. We are a people which has allowed itself to be threatened with extinction. Whining about a Genius Conspiracy won’t do what a sane people, a people with guts, has to do.

An enemy will always be there, and that enemy will always exploit your weaknesses. And if all you think about is what meanies they are some enemy will very soon take you down.

They exploit our weakness to destroy us. We refuse to admit what our weaknesses ARE.
In fact, we insist that our Traditional Values are perfect. Like French generals in three consecutive and very similar defeats in 1870, 1914 and 1940, we refuse to look at the basic weaknesses in our strategy.
The fact is that a race that has built its traditional values on idealizing sterility for two thousand years is lucky to have survive this long. Christianity has become nothing but self-hatred and Judaism has become nothing but self-pity.

Nothing cold be more conservative than the “radical” bottom line that good people want us to die out.
We have a set of traditional values based on human sacrifice. Yet when the movie The Happening reached is climax with a professor literally yelling that the existence of humanity is a danger to the Planet, they thought they were being radicals.

There is nothing radical about the idea that the highest morality is to die out. Instead of good old-fashioned cutting out of hearts, we have dedicated ourselves to teaching every young and intelligent man or woman, who is especially able to read,  to lock themselves up in a place with others of their sex, join them and spent their lives talking to the ceiling and, above all, dying without children.

A completely unnoticed basis of the feeling that Nazis were evil was because they took genetics into account. The heresy of a group that advocated child-bearing, which dared even to advocate child bearing by the beautiful and the smart, hit us in a weak spot we don’t recognize.

It infuriated us. Today the mere mention of beautiful and intelligent children is immediately identified with an alien mind set.

Today there is a fury against the idea of intelligent white women having children. It is a form of enslavement, a pure evil. But that is not because of Hitler.

Naturally they USE Hitler. But that fury was here long before Hitler, before GERMANY, existed. That fury is altogether a conservative one that has been adopted by anti-whites, not one that they invented.
Judaism is not our worst enemy. What we have made of Christianity is our worst enemy. And it is not just the Catholic Church. White Protestant countries are even more sterile than Catholic ones are.
Jesus told the young man to sell all he had and give it to the poor and FOLLOW ME. But I never heard a sermon, Protestant or Catholic, that even noticed the last two words. They were all about how the young man failed to hurt himself, not about  the unique opportunity he had to follow Christ.
Peter was married, and Christ did not reject him. Christ had brothers and probably sisters, but this is treated as a shameful secret.

Until we SEE this worship of self-destruction in ourselves, our lines will continue to fall apart.
And just whining about Jews won’t fix it.

I've been doing some research and reading of my own that the MSM, Muslims and Islamic's, aren't telling us for years and trying to share that information with all, so that we are able to understand 'the religion of peace'.

are following the people of falsehood such as the Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, idol-worshippers and others, whilst a group is remaining steadfast to the truth despite the pressures, is all part of the decreed system of the universe. But this does not mean that we should give in and follow the ways of those who are astray, because the one who told us that this would inevitably happen also warned us against following this path, and he commanded us to adhere firmly to Islam no matter how many people deviate from it and no matter how strong they become. He told us that the blessed one is the one who adheres steadfastly to the truth no matter what the distractions, at a time when the one who does righteous deeds will earn the reward of fifty men whose deeds are like those of the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) – as was reported in the hadeeth of Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani (may Allaah be pleased with him).

It is obvious Muslims are expected to be tolerant of no one ~ even at a College which clearly has Christian roots. Perhaps the next request might be to have 'Trinity' removed from the name ~ so it doesn't appear on their diploma.

A group of students at Trinity University is lobbying trustees to drop a reference to “Our Lord” on their diplomas, arguing it does not respect the diversity of religions on campus.  “A diploma is a very personal item, and people want to proudly display it in their offices and homes,” said Sidra Qureshi, president of Trinity Diversity Connection. “By having the phrase ‘In the Year of Our Lord,' it is directly referencing Jesus Christ, and not everyone believes in Jesus Christ.”

Qureshi, who is Muslim, has led the charge to tweak the wording, winning support from student government and a campus commencement committee. Trustees are expected to consider the students' request at a May board meeting.MORE

Al-Muhajiroun was the extremist organisation that recruited or converted young Muslims and British men to their political goal of a worldwide Islamic state, starting with the Emirate of Great Britain. It was never clear whether they would recognise England, Scotland and Wales but the overall objective was clear. A troublesome development was the disbandment of this organisation which appeared to portend greater underground activity on the part of the radicals.
Hannah Strange, UK correspondent for UPI, was attending a women's conference where Sheikh Omar, the former head of Al-Muhajiroun, was setting out his philosophy: Since Britain had invaded Iraq, the covenant of security that protected these islands from Islam was now broken, and as a consequence, war was declared. No doubt these sentiments weighed heavily on his heart since his patriotism was not in doubt:

Either withdraw your own forces or don't expect Muslims not to support the Muslims abroad," said Sheikh Omar, adding that the West supports dictators abroad when they see fit. If the government met those conditions, Muslims could continue to live peacefully in Britain, he said.
"After that there will be no need to fight anybody, we've been living in peace here for years, and we can continue to live in peace," he said. "We love Britain."

However, the usual epithets on 9/11, killing all non-Muslims and blaming the Jews outweighed his love of bully beef and the Queen. It was the story that they always tell themselves. They are not to blame. They were invaded. They are merely defending themselves against the hand that is raised against them. Indeed, their pathology is a puzzling outpouring of delusional bombast reinforced by the blood of innocents. 

Their bloodcurdling enactment of 9/11 demonstrates the distance between our compassion and the hatred of these extremists.

The speakers, all leading members of the group, called for war against the kuffaar (non-Muslims) and lead chants as a projector screen showed images of dead American soldiers in Iraq. As the infamous images of two planes crashing into the twin towers of the World Trade Center replayed again and again, the rapt watchers thrust their fists in the air and chanted "Allahu Akhbar! (God is great!)"

"Nine-eleven was one example of some people who chose to show us they are men, real Muslim men," said one speaker
Muslims must also beware of "the enemy within" -- moderate Muslims such as those on the Muslim Council of Britain, he said.
