COLUMBUS, Ohio — A teenager remained hospitalized Monday night, after he was allegedly beaten by students and possibly a parent after leaving school, 10TV’s Lindsey Seavert reported.
Police said 16-year-old Justin Bailey left South High School on Thursday, walking the few blocks he had to, to get home. Bailey would not make it home that day instead he was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, after being hit in the jaw and thrown to the ground.
The attack happened near the intersection of Thurman Avenue and South 17th Street in east Columbus.
Bailey’s grandmother Barbara Davis said her grandson’s jaw was broken in three places and he is suffering from internal bleeding.
David said Bailey told her that he had been surrounded by a large crowd of adults and threatened the day before the attack, by who he thought was parent. Davis said she cannot imagine who would want to hurt her grandson, an honor roll student.
