The Attitude of America- The Anglomaniacs. 1916
THE ANGLOMANIACS.
There is a conspicuous element in America which has persis- tently refused to see this war through American eyes. When these persons look at contemporary history they look at it from the point of view of Englishmen and Frenchmen ; when they urge action they urge it in the interest of the European coalition to which England and France belong. They are our pro-Ally fanatics, our Anglomaniacs, our American Tories. By whatever name they may
be called, they have one distinguishing mark : they make mock of our neutrality.
