This man shows complete restraint and composure  standing to protect a historic symbol that means something to him, he is just standing there saying nothing but instead stands his ground not confronting anyone silent, he never aims his gun at anyone or hurls insults or threats back at anyone and was led away by that cop so there wouldn't be anymore fighting which he wasn't starting. the cop who apparently came over because of one of the hecklers saying she was being threatened by what a statue that has been standing for well over a century, that man barely blinked an eye. 

That is what I'm seeing.
