The man who created controversy for Amazon.com with his book on how to be a pedophile has been arrested in Colorado.

Phillip Greaves was arrested at his home in Pueblo on obscenity charges from Florida.
Sheriff Grady Judd in Polk County, Fla., said his office was able to arrest Greaves because he sold and mailed his book, “The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover’s Code of Conduct,” directly to undercover Polk deputies.

Detectives worked with prosecutors with the 10 Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office to review the book and make the case, Judd said. Based on Florida law, they got a warrant for Greaves’ arrest for selling and mailing his pedophilia book, which Judd said advocates for pedophilia and offers training in how to do it. The author sold the book to Polk sheriff’s detectives, the sheriff said.
It contains two graphic stories depicting an adult engaged in sex acts with children, according to the Sheriff’s Office, specifically an adult having sex with a 9-year-old boy and with a 13-year-old boy.
“The book also defends, advocates, and trains adults regarding illegal sex acts between adults and children,” according to information from the Sheriff’s Office. more

Let The Protestors, Arrests Begin In Arizona. . .

Although U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton on Wednesday threw out some of the more controversial parts of SB 1070, temporarily blunting the new law’s impact, hundreds of demonstrators gathered at dawn to protest. They marched from the state Capitol and held a prayer vigil before moving on to the federal courthouse, where police in riot gear waited.

A few hours later, demonstrators blocked downtown streets as they chanted, “Hey ho, hey ho, SB 1070 has got to go.” They also converged on the office of controversial Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, yelling, “Sheriff Joe, we are here, we will not live in fear.”

Three people were arrested at the courthouse. At least eight protesters who approached a police line were taken into custody, as were two dozen others who sat down in the middle of a street and blocked traffic.
In Tucson, traffic on I-19 was briefly snarled after protesters threw tires, paint buckets and glass onto the roadway. One person was arrested.

Rep. Raul Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat and outspoken opponent of the law, closed his Yuma office after staff discovered a window shattered by a bullet.

But in Santa Cruz County along the border with Mexico, Sheriff Tony Estrada said Thursday was just another day. “Business as usual. No problems. It would have been different if I had to be enforcing that 1070,” said Estradamore

Victim of Assault-Robbery, Arrested for using the ‘N’ Word

A Bucks County woman who had been robbed and left bleeding outside the Tweeter Center in Camden just didn’t behave well as a crime victim, or so police thought.

Camden Detective Maurice Gibson, who alleges that Kimberly Halpin made racial slurs in describing her assailants, decided that she should be handcuffed, arrested, and jailed.

Their he-said, she-said trial landed before U.S. District Judge Renee Bumb this week. And a jury of five women and three men unanimously decided yesterday that the detective fabricated information to justify the June 19, 2004, arrest.

Halpin, 29, who is white and now works as a substance and alcohol abuse counselor, sued Camden police for false arrest after she was charged with disorderly conduct while trying to report that she had been mugged as she left an all-day music festival at the Tweeter Center. Gibson, who is African American and has been a police officer for 16 years, said he tried to take Halpin’s report, but she cried too much, was irate, cursed, and then twice used the “N-word” in describing the two assailants who took her backpack, purse, car keys, money, and cell phone.
