House of Horrors busted in Philly as 3 Blacks; Chained 4 Retarded 'Mentally Challenged' adults in 10 x 10 basement

PHILADELPHIA – Police have identified three people who allegedly kept a group of four mentally-challenged people locked and chained in what has been described as “a dungeon” in order to possibly steal their government checks, and have said they are facing a number of charges including kidnapping.

Linda Ann Weston, 51, Thomas Gregory, 27, both with addresses on the 2500 block of N. 29th Street, and Eddie Wright, 29, homeless, are all facing charges of criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, kidnapping, criminal trespass, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and other related charges, according to police.
The alleged ringleader, Linda Ann Weston, 51, previously served eight years in prison for starving Bernardo Ramos, 25, to death after he refused to support her sister’s unborn child, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Weston’s boyfriend, Thomas Gregory, 47, and homeless man Eddie Wright, 49, were also arrested Sunday. Each suspect was charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, kidnapping, and other related charges.
Late Sunday night, Gregory and Wright were arraigned and held on $2.5 million bail each, while Weston was still being processed,  thank you Kevin

Police have said Saturday night their investigation has initially determined Weston may have been orchestrating the scheme, and had relatives living in the Longshore Avenue home, which is how she had access to the basement.
The disturbing discovery of the four people was made when police from the city police department’s 15th district had initially been called to a home on the 4700 block of Longshore Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Saturday for an issue involving a dispute between a tenant and a landlord, according to Philadelphia Police Lt. Raymond Evers.
The landlord had found the people locked behind a steel door in the basement of the home. Police had reported hearing a rumbling behind the door that sounded as if a dog may have been locked inside, according to Evers, but found the four people inside the small room, which one police official described as “a dungeon.”
The four displayed signs of being malnourished. A police official said they were “very, very thin” and had bruises and bed sores on their bodies. They were taken to Frankford South Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition Sunday.
The four have not been identified. Police said Sunday the four had been living in West Palm Beach, Fla., prior to coming to Philadelphia within the last few weeks. A police official said Saturday the mental state of the four has hindered attempts to determine where they are from, but law enforcement agencies are looking into the possibility they are connected to the west coast of Florida and Texas.
A police source said the four includes three men, the oldest being about 40, and one woman who looks to be around 20 years old. All of them have mental disabilities.
The police source said the room in which the four had been locked looked like a scene out of the film “Silence of the Lambs.”more

New Black Panther At Philly Polls Nothing Happening, NBPP In Houston, That Is Another Story.

New Black Panther At Philly Polls Nothing Happening, NBPP In Houston, That Is Another Story.

A member of the New Black Panther Party was spotted by a local Fox station today at the same polling location at which he was videotaped two years ago. His presence at that facility in 2008, along with a nightstick-wielding colleague, led to a controversial voter intimidation case that has dogged the Obama administration for over a year and a half.
Fox provided a photo of the individual and reported that he was seen outside the polling place “wearing a pin that indicated his party affiliation, along with a black hat, sunglasses and leather coat.”

The individual appears to be Jerry Jackson, who had a poll-watching certificate back in 2008 and was originally named in the civil voter intimidation case bought in the waning days of the Bush administration. The Obama administration did not pursue the case against Jackson or the national party, but did obtain an injunction against fellow NBPP member King Samir Shabazz, who carried a nightstick.
Charles Mirarchi of the City of Philadelphia confirmed to TPMMuckraker on Tuesday that Jackson holds a poll-watching certificate for 2010. The Philadelphia Republican Party was not yet aware of Jackson’s presence at the polling location when contacted by TPMMuckraker.

The man who appears to be Jackson was not holding a weapon today, and there are no reports thus far that he was doing anything illegal. Shabazz, who was carrying the nightstick in 2008, did not appear to be with Jackson at the polling location. The injunction bans Shabazz from coming within 100 feet of a polling location with a weapon. But the fact that the member of the fringe extremist group is back at a poll watcher at the same location that sparked such controversy in 2008 could add fuel to the investigation by the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and the broader investigation into the enforcement of voting laws by the Justice Department’s Inspector General. Republicans are expected to launch an investigation as well if they take back the House of Representatives.more TPM

Philadelphia wasn’t the only American city graced by the presence of New Black Panthers today. They were also active in Houston. Texas law prohibited the New Black Panthers from bursting into a polling place. They are not allowed within 100 feet of the polls for any reason except to vote or if they are credentialed poll watchers, which they weren’t. This illegal behavior was repeated at multiple polling places in Houston.
Quanell X is the Houston version of King Samir Shabazz, the chairman of the local New Black Panthers. His legal name is Quanell Abdul Farrakhan. Before that, it was Ralph Evans.
Mr. X led a squad of at least five New Black Panthers, including members in New Black Panther uniforms, into Houston polling places, including precinct 202, illegally.more

Jewish prayer ritual leads pilot to divert . . .

PHILADELPHIA – A teenage airplane passenger using an Orthodox Jewish prayer instrument caused a misunderstanding that led the captain to divert the Kentucky-bound plane to Philadelphia and prompted a visit from a bomb squad. A 17-year-old boy on US Airways Express Flight 3079 travelling from New York to Louisville was using tefillin, a set of black boxes attached to leather straps and containing biblical passages, said Philadelphia police Lt. Frank Vanore.

When used in prayer, one box is strapped to the arm while the other box is placed on the head.

“It’s something that the average person is not going to see very often, if ever,” FBI spokesman J.J. Klaver said.

The teen explained the ritual after being questioned by crew members, but the captain decided to land in Philadelphia anyway, authorities said.

The flight left LaGuardia Airport in New York around 7:30 a.m.; it landed without incident in Philadelphia about 90 minutes later and was met by police and officials from the FBI and Transportation Security Administration.

Authorities said the plane was searched and passengers were questioned. The teen, who is from White Plains just north of New York City, was travelling with his 16-year-old sister.

“They were more alarmed than we were,” Vanore said.

Klaver said the teen and his sister were never in custody, and have been cleared to continue their travels.More.
