J&J has come under media scrutiny once again for side effects associated with the antipsychotic drug Risperdal. The drug has been linked to causing Gynecomastia in males.

Johnson & Johnson, the pharmaceutical giant known worldwide as a maker of a variety of popular pharmaceutical products, has come under media scrutiny once again for manufacturing potential defective drugs. This time, however, the scrutiny surrounds the side effects associated with the manufacturing of a particular antipsychotic known as Risperdal. Specifically, the drug has been linked to causing Gynecomastia in males.

Risperdal is a drug prescribed for the treatment of mental disorders like bipolar, schizophrenia and autism.

Last August, Calif. Governor Jerry Brown signed into law a controversial bill that would require schools to recognize transgender students’ rights to choose to play on sports teams and use bathroom facilities that correspond to their self-perception and not their biological gender. In essence, anything in school that is sex-segregated would be open to students who otherwise might be restricted from them. For example, a biological male who identifies as a female would be permitted to use female bathroom and locker room facilities and try out for the sports and activities typically limited to female-only participants (and vice versa).

Shortly before the Christmas holiday, Fox News reported that groups opposed to this law filed a lawsuit, claiming that county governments are ignoring their petition to subject the law to a referendum – as California has done in the past with other controversial legislation such as Proposition 8, legalizing gay marriage. The filers say that they collected and submitted 620,000 signatures in order to put the referendum on the November 2014 ballot, 115,000 more than is typically required. However the governments say that they are either still “reviewing” signatures or, as is the case with the signatures dropped off in Mono County, they were not delivered in time.

So while challenges are likely to continue, the law goes into effect New Year’s Day, and, according to NPR, school officials across the state are left unsure of how to proceed. Perhaps though, the real problem with anti-discrimination legislation and policies is not that these kids are transgender, but that they’re kids. According to KTVU, the West Contra Costa Unified School Board is considering altering their anti-discrimination policy after (what else) a video of a school fight found its way to the internet.  >>MORE FROM OV<<

South Africa Has The Right Idea! Man Suspected Of Raping 15-Year-Old Girl Stoned To Death By Mob

A 32-year-old man suspected of raping a 15-year-old girl in Cape Town, South Africa was stoned to death by angry residents.

According to reports, the 15-year-old girl and her friend were confronted by two men with knives and forced into a shack to be raped. The 15-year-old victim’s aunt says he niece told her about the assault.

"My niece told me the suspect and his accomplice threatened to kill them if they told anyone about the incidents," the aunt was quoted as saying.

Not long after the rape, word began to spread, and that’s when angry residents in Cape Town decided to seek justice. A group of men found the suspect, dragged him outside, and proceeded to beat and stone him to death.  

"During the day before he raped the girl, he robbed people of their phones. He was always carrying a knife with him. We don't regret his killing because if we do not react to these incidents, no one would," said one anonymous resident who participated in the killing.

With the death of South African revolutionary icon Nelson Mandela, outside analysts and locals alike are expressing fear of a coming genocide of European-descent Afrikaners.

So significant is the threat in South Africa, some genocide experts are urging Afrikaners to consider fleeing their homeland.

Dr. Gregory Stanton, head of Genocide Watch and a man who himself fought against the apartheid system, warned as early as last year that South Africa was at Stage 6 out of 8 on the road to genocide: the planning and preparation phase.

The 8 Stages of Genocide

CLASSIFICATION 2. SYMBOLIZATION 3. DEHUMANIZATION 4. ORGANIZATION 5. POLARIZATION 6. PREPARATION:  Victims are identified and separated out because of their ethnic or religious identity. Death lists are drawn up. Members of victim groups are forced to wear identifying symbols. Their property is expropriated. They are often segregated into ghettoes, deported into concentration camps, or confined to a famine-struck region and starved. At this stage, a Genocide Emergency must be declared. If the political will of the great powers, regional alliances, or the U.N. Security Council can be mobilized, armed international intervention should be prepared, or heavy assistance provided to the victim group to prepare for its self-defense. Otherwise, at least humanitarian assistance should be organized by the U.N. and private relief groups for the inevitable tide of refugees to come. 7. EXTERMINATION 8. DENIAL

“There is thus strong circumstantial evidence of government support for the campaign of forced displacement and atrocities against white farmers and their families,” said Stanton, after a fact-finding mission to South Africa last year. “There is direct evidence of government incitement to genocide.”

In an e-mail to a prominent Afrikaner monitoring the dangers, Stanton emphasized that Genocide Watch had raised the Genocide Stage level for South Africa to Stage 6 based on “evidence that the murders of Afrikaaner farmers and other whites is organized by racist communists determined to drive whites out of South Africa, nationalize farms and mines, and bring on all the horrors of a communist state.”

How the Irish beat the Nazis October 17, 1936

A football programme emblazoned with a chilling swastika from a match between Nazi Germany and the Irish Free State is going on sale at auction for the first time.

The Ireland v Germany soccer programme - which is expected to fetch up to 500 euro -when auctioned by Whytes in Dublin.

Key tags from the H Blocks in the Maze prison and Celtic wood carvings made by republican inmates held at Portlaoise and Long Kesh are also in the historic sale. 

Ian Whyte, of Whytes auctioneers, said the set of ten key tags were found by contractors called in to demolish the notorious Maze, which closed in 2000.

"This is the second time we've offered these," he said. "We sold them in 2010 to a man, but he has since died and his son is selling them on."

They are expected to fetch 300 to 500 euro  when they go under the hammer.

The Ireland v Germany soccer programme - which is also expected to fetch up to 500 euro - is among the hundreds of unusual lots at a history, literature and collectibles sale hosted by Whytes in Dublin.

Mr Whyte said the lot would be of interest to sports fans who collect programmes, as well as those with an interest in European history.

"It's quite chilling to see," he said about the swastika. "In the past a similar programme fetched up to £800."

Historic military uniforms, decommissioned weapons, documents and a pair of duelling pistols will also be auctioned.

Another highlight is a framed 1960 US election poster for John F Kennedy, which is expected to fetch between 400 and 600 euro.Read more:

Fox News reports Maritha Nelson’s $240 in food stamps has run out, leaving her $9 in cash and seven people to feed. The 50-year-old single mother, who entered the U.S. by swimming across the Rio Grande, has government funded housing, medication, and $700 a month in Social Security. She’s been on assistance for 20 years, and wants others to know that help is available. Florida is teeming with food stamp recruiters…who have a goal: increase federal aid to Florida by $1 billion a year.

The apps feature quizzes and games with seductive topics like, “What’s Your Love Personality?”

Sounds harmeless so far, right? Good, clean fun. We decided to take the quiz and see.
