Missing Morgan Dana Harrington’s Body Found

The body of Morgan Dana Harrington has been positively identified through dental records. But it remains a mystery how she died in a farmer’s hay field, more than a mile away from any road.

Dental records positively identify the body of Morgan Dana Harrington.

Morgan was last seen at a Metallica concert in October when she apparently left her friends to go to the bathroom. She somehow ended up outside, and since security wouldn’t let her back in, she phoned her friends to say she would find her own way home. Witnesses who saw her outside the arena said she wasn’t with anyone. About an hour later, someone matching her description was seen walking on a nearby bridge. That was the last sighting of her.

Farmer David Dass found her body while driving his tractor on a distant portion of his 700-acre farm yesterday morning. The instant he saw the body, he believed it was Morgan’s. But it remains a mystery how she got to this final resting place. The farm is 10 miles from the arena, and the location where she was found was more than a mile from a road. There is no public access to the area.more
The remains of a blond woman were found on Jan. 26, 10 miles south of where Harrington was last seen. The night of the concert, she reportedly became separated from friends and was spotted looking distraught outside of the venue. Dental records were used to positively identify the remains as those as those of Morgan Harrington, bringing closure to her parents’ harrowing three-month ordeal. Police confirmed for the media during a press conference Tuesday evening that they were “fairly confident” the body was Harrington’s because it belonged to someone with blond hair and because of clothing and other items that were found at the scene. The positive identification followed an autopsy performed on the remains last night. A cause of death has not yet been released, and it is still unknown when she was killed.

Metallica had offered a $50,000 reward for any information leading to Harrington’s safe return. More than 600 tips were phoned in to police, but none led to Harrington. It was a farmer feeding his cattle who found the body.more
