Do you think white male only scholarships are needed?

Yes there should be a White male and or female scholarship out there and (17 out of 20 reader/commenter Think So!) While everything under the sun has their own scholarship/grant programs, there are none offered to exclusively 'White Males'
I am so happy I came across this article written by I'd say a White mother first off, I could be wrong but the writer most likely has a white male/female college student that has been through with this having to find ways to scrimp and save to help their child.

With most of the scholarships going to minority groups -- like, say, LGBT Asian students or Hispanic women in business -- it's practically impossible for white males to get funding for college.

Why indeed?
I bet you can guess what he's doing about it ...
He's formed a nonprofit group in Texas, which is offeringfive $500 scholarships exclusively to white male students. Applicants must be at least 25 percent Caucasian, have a GPA exceeding 3.0, and demonstrate financial need.
Ordinarily, I'd find it laughable that white males are complaining about their access to college (particularly when compared with that of minorities).
But with college tuition at an all-time high, the fact of the matter is that more than ever, white males are having trouble paying for tuition. The whole idea behind a scholarship is that it helps a person who might not otherwise have the opportunity to pay for college to do so. And, if it happens to do that for white men -- and not at the expense of another sector of the population that is less fortunate -- then I guess I can't really argue with that.
Still, I can't help but wonder if a white male only scholarship is making a subtle statement against affirmative action.
