‘NA’ Leaves 450 Fliers On Cars Calling For Meeting To Discuss Immigration Problems In Florence, KY June 11.

450 cars in Florence are papered with fliers calling for action against the growing immigrant population. Many of the drivers say they’re appalled by language in the fliers that refers to the immigrants as invaders and thugs.
The fliers started showing up on cars earlier this week. They are the work of a white supremacy group known as the National Alliance. The group is not only calling for action, but they are organizing a meeting next Monday at a public library.
Ransdell says the meeting will not be some sort of rally, but just a chance to gauge community feelings and share ideas. He says at some point he hopes to organize protests outside some of the businesses that cater to immigrants. He also says another 450 fliers will be on windshields before the meeting next Monday.
The Boone County Public Library says it will be business as usual next Monday. If more than 16 people show up, they will not be let in. If the groups tries to get more people in the room they will be asked to leave. All of the bigger meeting rooms are reserved for other events.>>>MORE<<<
The flyer stated:
Letter
“PROBLEMS THAT HAVE ACCOMPANIED THE THIRD WORLD IMMIGRANTS, AS WELL AS THE RABBLE FROM THE INNER CITY OF CINCINNATI, WHO HAVE FLOCKED TO FLORENCE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED TRIVIAL HAVE RECENTLY BECOME MORE SERIOUS AND EVEN THOUGH THE CITY’S ELECTED OFFICIALS AS WELL AS POLICE HAVE BEEN URGED TO TAKE ACTION THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO BLISSFULLY IGNORE THE ISSUE, CHOOSING INSTEAD TO SPEND THEIR TIME WORRYING ABOUT THINGS LIKE FIREWORK SALES.”
“I know that prejudice and racism are everywhere. It’s just an unfortunate part of our society, but to have it so close to home is troublesome,” said the mother, who said she raised her children to see beyond the color of someone’s skin.
The flyer stated the need for change because of the:
‘VIOLENT CRIMINAL ACTS COMMITTED BY THE GROWING THIRD WORLD IMMIGRANT POPULATION IN FLORENCE.’
While it’s not clear who wrote or distributed the flyers on several cars this week, it does indicate a meeting at the Boone County Library’s Scheben Branch in Union, Ky., on Monday, June 11, at 7 p.m. They have booked a conference room for that day and time.
The library said that that is totally within their right.Read more: thank you Brian

A town hall meeting to discuss a proposed federal immigrant detention center in the south suburbs was called off today due to security concerns related to the NATO summit, officials said.
Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. postponed the meeting at the Crete-Monee 6th Grade Center School after conferring with law enforcement officials “due to security concerns raised by NATO and outside protesters who are threatening to come to Crete,” according to a statement released by Jackson’s office. The meeting was to be hosted by Jackson, Congressman Luis Gutierrez and officials from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“The Congressman remains opposed to a detention center in Crete, and ICE officials remain committed to coming to Crete to listen to residents’ concerns before any decision is made,” the statement read.
