West Haven - Police say that a Connecticut mother allegedly filmed herself tormenting and abusing her ten-month-old baby. She then sent the video to the baby’s father, saying, “I love abusing this kid.”
Daily Mail reports that police say some of the text messages Park sent to her ex-boyfriend said, “I’ll f***ing break her face in”; “I’ll beat her face in,” and “I love abusing this kid.”
According to the police, in one of the videos, Park yells at the baby to “eat stuff off the floor.” She says: “That is what your dad wants me to do.” She throws the food at the baby. She then takes the baby from the chair and puts her in a crib and shakes the crib till the baby falls out. In another video, Park reportedly kicks at a gate causing it to fall on top of the baby who falls and cries. Park says: “Don’t you get it? Your father doesn’t care so guess what, I’m not gonna care.”
ABC News reports that a police report said the video showed the child “terrified and traumatized.” The report said the child appeared “to be crying in pain in some of the videos as a result [of her mother's] actions.”
Vece told police that he and Park were living together until a few months ago when he was arrested after a domestic dispute. He said Park issued a protective order against him.
According to Harford Courant, Vece reported the abuse to the police on June 9. Earlier on the same day, before Vece reported to the police, Park had attempted suicide. The police had asked Park’s mother to bring her daughter to Yale New Haven Hospital where she was held in the psych ward overnight.
When Vece reported the abuse to the police, officers tried to speak with Park at the hospital but she was sedated and they could not interview her, the Harford Courant reports. She was released on June 10, but she fled to avoid the police. Police tracked her down to an address in New Haven where she was arrested on June 20 and held at the York Correctional Institution in Niantic, Conn. Police say Park was charged with third-degree assault. ABC News reports she was charged with assault, intentional cruelty, risk of injury to a child, and threatening.Read more
