ATF agents say motive of gun smuggling was to hype anti-gun hysteria–and kill; 2013 and in walks S. 261; Motive for Lifetime disarmament in US.

ATF/DOJ GUN SMUGGLING SCANDAL - APRIL 11, 2011
n the days since the story was first reported that the ATF-DOJ concocted a scheme to run or ‘walk’ U.S. guns into Mexico, various theories have been presented as to the motive. The official explanation is that the U.S. wanted to track the guns as they made their way from Mexican operatives, to the drug cartels, and to the front lines of the cartels’ criminal activity, all in an effort to supposedly help the ATF catch drug kingpins. Various other theories have been presented as well, several of which have made their way into the mainstream media–that is, except for the correct one.
Whistleblower ATF agents have made it clear as to the motive for the illegal scheme that has created an ‘international incident’ between the U.S. Government and the Government of Mexico. The agents themselves are adamant that their superisors planned the scheme in order to pad statistics that would show U.S. guns are fueling the drug cartels, that the U.S. has a major problem with lax gun laws, and then provide an impetus for the Obama Administration and other gun control advocates to hype up anti-gun hysteria–all in support of another round of restrictive gun laws.
But there is a much more sinister motive at play. MORE

S. 261: Conviction in foreign kangaroo court to mean lifetime disarmament in US

Senator Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) latest attack on gun rights (unless she has attacked themagain in the last few hours–a not at all implausible scenario) would impose a life sentence of state mandated defenselessness in the U.S. for “foreign felons.” What is a “foreign felon”? Someone convicted of a felony in a foreign country. Feinstein describes S. 261, the “No Firearms for Foreign Felons Act,” this way(emphasis in original):
“Under current federal law, individuals convicted in the United States of violent felonies like rape, murder and terrorism are prohibited from possessing firearms,” said Senator Feinstein. “However, federal law does not bar criminals convicted of those same violent crimes in foreign courts from possessing guns. This legislation closes that loophole.”  MORE
